Botox

Botox is a medicine that is used for cosmetic and aesthetic concerns in addition to some muscle disorders. It ensures the muscles work less in areas where it is applied, thus creating an anti-aging effect. Muscle that works less means prevention of the generation of skin wrinkles. Therefore, it is preferred on areas that are fatigued due to mimics almost every minute, such as the face.

Botox is administered by injection. The level of discomfort experienced during the procedure varies from person to person; where considered necessary, a topical or local anaesthetic may be applied by the physician. An injection is made into the mimic muscle if a mimic muscle-related procedure is to be carried out, and into the skin in the case of an excessive sweating procedure. The effect of Botox starts within 3 to 4 days, with the full effect being obtained after a week. As for its permanence, it is between 4 and 6 months. When the effect of the botox has disappeared, there is no disadvantage to re-applying it. Botulinum toxin is a medicinal product licensed in Türkiye by the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK). As with every medicinal product, possible side effects and individual risks exist; a detailed medical assessment by a physician is required before the procedure.
