Hormone Replacement Therapy
Menopause is a natural biological phase of life that marks the end of women's menstrual cycles, just like infancy, puberty, and sexual maturity. During this period, the number of follicles in the ovaries of women decreases, and the production of oestrogen hormone also decreases. Estrogen production, which stops completely over time, causes the ovaries to shrink. As a result, the menstrual cycle stops, and reproductive ability is lost. Menopause is diagnosed as a result of not having a period for 12 normal menstrual cycles.
Menopause means that the ovaries lose their reproductive function. Many women go through menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, and this is normal. However, subsequent complaints can cause women to experience very annoying processes. Typical symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, anxious and depressed moods, trouble sleeping, joint pain, and vaginal dryness.
Moreover, the decreased oestrogen hormone increases the risk of osteoporosis. Bones tend to lose calcium and break more easily. Women's stature is shortened. Weight gain occurs, especially around the belly. For this reason, the probability of developing diabetes and heart disease increases. All these problems can sometimes occur silently, without making the person feel their presence.
Hormone replacement therapy is an application aimed at reducing the complaints caused by the decrease in female hormones during the postmenopausal period. Replenishment of estrogen sources in the body is achieved to treat symptoms. Thus, hot flashes, sleep problems, vaginal dryness, urinary tract diseases and psychological problems are largely eliminated. Cardiovascular diseases are prevented, the risk of Alzheimer's and osteoporosis is reduced.
